At Mulatya Memorial Hospital (MMH), we try to achieve the highest standards in our clinical care and also in the services we provide for patients and families. We want to exceed your expectations so we try to improve what we do and how we do it all the time.

What you and your patient experience when you come to MMH matters to us. We want to provide the best experience possible during what we realise must be a difficult time in your lives.
Understanding your visit or stay at MMH can tell us:
We regard any comments, compliments, concern and complaints about our services as an opportunity to learn and make improvements. Your patient’s care will not be affected in any way by you telling us your experience. Copies of any letters or investigations are never filed in your patient’s medical records.
You can tell us about your experience in various ways:
It helps us if you can give as much information as possible, such as when you had the experience, where it happened and, unless you want to remain anonymous, your patient’s name and hospital number.

The Friends and Family Test is an important opportunity for you to provide feedback on the care and treatment your patient receives at MMH. We use the information gathered to improve services. When your patient is discharged, or within the 48 hours that follow, you will be given the opportunity to answer the following question:
“How likely are you to recommend our ward or department to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?”
You will be invited to respond to the question on a paper feedback form by choosing one of six options, ranging from ‘extremely likely’ to ‘extremely unlikely’. Your answer is voluntary but if you do answer, your feedback will provide valuable information to help ensure our patients and families continue to have the best possible experience of care. Your answer will not be traced back to you, and your details will not be passed on to anyone.
All patients are given the opportunity to complete the Friends and Family Test feedback card or online form. The feedback cards can be returned by placing them in the feedback box on the ward. We are also looking to increase the number of ways that families and patients can respond to the Friends and Family Test question.
The results of the Friends and Family Test at MMH will be displayed on wards around the hospital.

During your stay, you might be thinking the food’s not going to be very nice at all. This is not the case at all. Have a look at what a typical day’s menu at MMH looks like.

Any inpatient who is allergic to any food must be referred to the ward dietician on admission. Meals, snacks and any special formulas for food allergic patients will be prepared in the Diet Kitchen and then sent to the ward.
Please note that we do not allow cooked foods from outside the hospital premises into the wards
Many patients worry about coming into hospital because they do not know what it’s like or what to expect. Although hospitals can be very large, wards are usually fairly small and friendly, so you’ll soon get to know your way around.
You may request a room to yourself, with your own space.
The rest of your family and friends can also visit whenever they want. The nurses are always around. So if you’ve got any questions, or just want a chat, they are there to help.
Sometimes you might need to come back into hospital many times. This is so the doctors can find out what is wrong and help you get well. Once you’ve been in once or twice you’ll soon get to know the people there.
You will meet your nurse, the doctor and the rest of his/her team who will look after you.
For day cases; after your treatment, you can choose what you want to eat from the day’s menu. When you’re feeling better after your treatment, and have had something to eat and drink, you’ll be able to go home.
The nurses will tell you and your family what to expect after the treatment, and will call you at home the next day to make sure everything is okay.
We carry out a myriad of tests and diagnostic procedures at the facility in a timely manner.
Our laboratory has all the necessary equipment and certifications required enabling us to carry out a wide variety of diagnostics with clinical accuracy.

Our Pharmacy offers a full formulary of drugs, both generic and brand name. We provide quality medication to meet all prescription needs at very competitive market rates.
The department provides a pharmaceutical service to patients, nurses and consultants, including inpatient prescriptions, private outpatient prescriptions, cytotoxic reconstitution and discharge medication counseling.

We take a personalized, holistic approach that may include a prescription for changes in closely monitored diet, exercise habits, and other lifestyle considerations. Our Medical Nutrition program for management of diabetes is twice as effective as the leading type 2 drug at normalizing blood sugar and reversing other diabetes problems. Our goal is to achieve and maintain blood glucose levels in the normal range, without dependence on medication.
Our Doctors, nurses & midwives are skilled and up to date with the latest birthing techniques, postnatal and neonatal care. We have a Well-Baby clinic running throughout the week, and immunizations for the baby are greatly subsidized.
